"There's so much to see and do"

There is so much to do around us it is hard to list all.... a great range of outdoor activities and visitor attractions in the Village and all around our location. We are an ideal base for enjoying the many activities and attractions around the Spey Valley and within the Cairngorm National Park. Once you are with us we are very happy to offer you tips and advice on all that is on offer, including these listed below.

WE HAVE A DRYING ROOM FOR WET BOOTS AND KIT :)

Sking - Great access to both East and West of Scotland, you can wait and see where best snow and weather might be before heading away for the day. You are also able to ski Cairngorm one day and Nevis Range the next.

Golf – Newtonmore golf course is right at our front door and there are others to choose from at Kingussie, Boat of Garten, Grantown-on-Spey and Spey Vally at Aviemore. Walking - Newtonmore "The Walking Centre of Scotland" - The Wildcat Centre in the village has details of local walks and others further afield. Hill walking is all around, ranging from the gentle to Munros for the more adventurous. Further information on walking in the Newtonmore area is also available at.

Wildlife - We are in a great part of the country for viewing wildlife. BBC TV's Springwatch program often spends time in the area filming Ospreys, Wildcats, Crested Tits on the Rothiemurcus estate. Red squirrels, Pine Martens, Golden Eagles, Red Deer, Scottish Crossbills, Snow Bunting, Ptarmigan, Mountain Hares - click here for more details.

Mountain Biking - Laggan Wolftrax is only 8 miles away. All around the entire area the trail network offers some of the best mountain biking in Scotland, offering great scenery and challenging trails for all abilities -  Click here for details.            

Other outdoor activities include Road Cycling, Pony Trekking, Bird and Wildlife Watching, Feild sports and Watersports on Loch Inch and Loch Morlich.

Tourist attractions and historical sites. In Newtonmore there is the Highland Folk Museum and the Clan Macpherson museum. Newtonmore Shinty Club welcome visitors to their matches at the Eilan. Nearby there are the Highland Wildlife Park, the visitor centre at Dalwhinnie Distillery, The Reindeer Centre at Glenmore and the Rothiemurcus estate where many activities including clay pigeon shooting, sled dog rides, fishing and quad biking are on offer.
