Scottish Highland Wildlife in the area

We are an ideal base for seeing the wildlife in the Cairngorms and Spey Valley area. The BBC TV programme "Springwatch" has often spent time in the surrounding area and has featured Ospreys, Wildcats, Capercaillie and Crested Tits. It is also possible to see Red Deer, Red Squirrels, Pine Marten, Reindeer, Golden Eagles, Scottish Crossbills, Mountain Hare, Ptarmigan and many others.

There are RSPB reserves at Loch Insch where you can watch waterfowl in season  and Boat of Garten where you can see Ospreys and Capercaillie.
